Dear Chelsea FC fans,
I would like to start off by saying that I am also a Chelsea fan. I have grown up not only watching them play but also watching them win. I remember specifically the first time I saw them win the English Premiere League. And that was the first of many. Last season, Chelsea FC took the title of champions in the Premiere League. Unfortunately, they were unable to defend that position and now have no chance of holding onto the title for another season. Honestly Chelsea FC is doing terrible right now. After playing a total of fourteen games at the moment, Chelsea only has four wins. They are currently in 14th place. It’s amazing how a first place team can change so quickly. Even the players are recognizing how bad they are doing right now. Many people blame it on the current manager, Jose Mourinho. After having such a bad start, many people thought that Mourinho should be fired. Mourinho announced that he would not resign, that if they did not want him they would have to fire him. He stated that he would not run away from his responsibility. That itself shows how loyal Mourinho is and how much he cares for the team. Then others blame it on the players. Ultimately, I think it is not simply just one at fault here. I believe it is a combination of both.

I am not here today to tell you why Chelsea is playing so bad in the current league. Honestly I could not even tell you. As a soccer player myself, I can see the game very well. And for some reason Chelsea’s players don’t seem to be connecting. I do not know why. Although looking into the past is important to learn, looking into the future can be much more beneficial to the team. They need to forget what has happened and forgot what their current record is, and just play. They need to play like I know they can. The players know how they are playing and are currently looking to the future. One player, Kurt Zouma, stated that they know that they are not playing well, but he said that as each game that goes by, they play better and better. He believes that their confidence is coming back, which is exactly what they need at this point. Confidence is everything in soccer. Now this leads to the next most important thing in soccer, support.
Support is very important for the players. In my experience, support from fans helps players in their games and usually leads to a better outcome. When nobody supports a team, it is very hard to win. But when there are people screaming and chanting your name, it gives you the power to play much better. And right now for Chelsea, support is what they need most to turn around this terrible season. If we fans do not continue to support them, how can we expect them to do better? They could possibly end up in an even worse position then they already are. Support will build their confidence, causing them to play better and eventually leading them to win. Even if you are not a Chelsea fan, but are a fan of the English Premiere League, we could use your support. You can be part of something bigger then yourself. You could be the difference. We have the power to change the season around. That is why, even through the rough, we need to continue to support Chelsea. They need our support. So I ask each and every one of you to stick with your team even through the losses, continue cheering on Chelsea, and never lose hope.
Sincerely,
Dan Haas
